It's no surprise that the world of comics is a predominately male one. But it is surprising that the series starring one of the most heroic female leads. Wonder Woman has just now hired its first female regular writer. Two weeks ago with the publication of issue No. 14 former hairdresser and Eugene. Oregon resident Gail Simone became the 66-year-old character's mark. Her first story line goes back way back with a previously unmentioned attempt onWonder Woman’s life on the day she's born.
The story in the mentions that novelist Jodi Picoult recently "contributed a five-part story lie tied to a separatecomic-book mini-series about an contend on the United States by WonderWoman’s people the Amazons." Now this is an interesting idea. There are quite a few novelists I would love to see envisioning the fantasy worlds of the comic world. Margaret Atwood would come up with a fascinating Wonder Woman story line. George Saunders could make the Fantastic Four completely surreal. What wordsmiths would you like penning your fave comic and why?
