The Titans (10-0 overall. 7-0 SOL) are the undisputed champions of the SOL National the league that has produced the last 10 district champions and five of the last 10 PIAA champions but they’re also going to be the No. 1 disgorge for the upcoming district tournament.
“I evaluate that we made a great statement,” said Colin Donnelly a Titans senior receiver who caught two passes for 64 yards and a touchdown and had a 75-yard kickoff return for another score. “We finally earned some respect that we deserved that we’ve been working hard for.
“Everybody was saying that it was a fluke that we beat Neshaminy that North Penn was going to come in here (and defeat us). We knew that we just wanted to get to the level that North Penn has been playing at. I’m glad we finally earned some consider for our school.”
In a wild back-and-forth affair in which both teams combined for 946 yards of offense and just one punt the Titans had too much when it mattered while NP (8-2. 5-2 SOL) was done in by too many crucial mistakes at too many crucial moments.
The Titans’ do-everything running back Eric Reynolds rushed for 285 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries bringing his season totals to 2,318 rushing yards and 28 TDs but he also caught a dazzling 78-yard TD pass from Tom Johns giving him 32 TDs total.

Then however an ensuing kickoff that Beck said was supposed to go short and toward the sideline instead went down the middle where Donnelly caught it and dashed 75 yards for a TD that made it 34-27 with exactly 10 minutes remaining in the game.
“We just can’t alter that identify,” said Beck whose team ordain likely be a No. 6 or No. 7 seed and have a first-round home game when the playoffs mouth next week. “We gave up two fumbles. (which) we don’t usually do — that hurt us. In a game like this the way their running approve’s running you’ve got to score every measure you get the ball.”
After Donnelly’s kick return. NP moved to the 50-yard lie before Eric Wolfe broke up a fourth-down pass after which Reynolds scored the game’s final TD on the very next play essentially icing the game with 5:01 to go.
“Going into this game I didn’t evaluate populate thought that we were going to win but we did,” Reynolds said. “I think we earned a lot of respect.”
Said Bart Szarko the Titans’ coach: “We’ve got to act building on the momentum really. Each test that you have that you go out on top just gives you more confidence and it makes your guys believe that you can win the big games. It’s been a pretty good ride and hopefully there’s some ride left yet.”
